Digitizing the Corpus Rubenianum Ludwig Burchard (2013-2016)

Up-to-date information, more illustrations (many in color), downloadable and searchable using OCR: since 2014 the Corpus Rubenianum Ludwig Burchard has been highly accessible online.

The 19 volumes of the Corpus Rubenianum Ludwig Burchard that were published at least 15 years ago are accessible on this website as downloadable and searchable PDF files. A cumulative index of all downloadable volumes makes searches easier.

Staff at the Rubenianum systematically add links between the scanned volumes and the artwork records in the online database RKDimages. In the newly added or updated records of all registered Rubens works, the catalogue notes from the Corpus are accompanied by a digital update with the most recent bibliographic and provenance information. In contrast to the printed catalogue entries, the database includes a color image for each work by Rubens. The many paintings and drawings that were not yet known at the time of the book’s publication have been added as part of this project. This online updating of the Corpus Rubenianum will be continued after the publication project concludes.
